About me

Fifteen-odd years with a camera.

By profession I work in education: two decades of teaching, school leadership and academic strategy in the UK and across South East Asia, and now an independent advisory practice. The camera came along for all of it. This site is where that side of things lives.

Street and people first, then wherever the lens wanders: architecture, landscape, and the oddments that fit no tidier heading. These galleries are the edit; the looser, more frequent shots go to Instagram.

Most of it was shot wherever the day job took me, or the holidays after it: South Korea, Singapore and Vietnam, with a fair amount of Europe and a hint of the United States in between. Budapest is next, from August 2026.

Beyond photography, I am drawn to things that are well made and built to last. I am slowly building a collection of mechanical watches, not in pursuit of a single perfect piece, but a curated set in which each has a distinct character and a specific place. The same instinct draws me to fine fountain pens and good paper, and to coffee approached with perhaps more seriousness than is strictly necessary.
